You're Resting...So why do you not feel rested?

# You're Resting… So Why Don't You Feel Rested? **The Restored & Aligned Woman | Nervous System Regulation Series — Episode 2** Have you ever been exhausted all day, counting down the hours until you can finally sit down, only to discover that your mind won't stop? You're thinking about tomorrow's schedule, unfinished tasks, conversations from earlier, and everything that still needs your attention. Maybe you spend your evening scrolling on your phone, hoping to unwind, only to wake up the next morning feeling just as tired. **Being physically still doesn't always mean we're getting the rest we need.** In the second episode of our four-part nervous system regulation series, we're talking about the mental load so many women carry and why ongoing stress can make it difficult to truly unwind. We'll explore how stress and sleep influence one another, why exhaustion can affect our patience and relationships, and how our own emotional responses can influence our children. We'll also discuss practical ways to reduce mental overload, create small moments of quiet throughout the day, and recognize what actually helps us feel refreshed. In This Episode - Why you can feel physically exhausted but mentally wide awake - The mental load women carry and the guilt that can come with slowing down - How stress and poor sleep can create a difficult cycle - Why scrolling isn't always the relaxation we think it is - The connection between our emotional well-being and parenting - Simple ways to unwind without adding another overwhelming task to your schedule - What Scripture teaches us about rest and stewardship Faith Encouragement In Mark 6:31, Jesus invites His disciples to step away and rest after a busy season of serving others. Even meaningful work can leave us exhausted. Caring for our families, working, and serving others are important, but that doesn't mean we don't have limitations. **Rest isn't the opposite of faithfulness. It can be part of faithful stewardship.** Your Weekly Challenge Find **10 minutes each day to intentionally unwind**. If 10 minutes feels impossible, start with two or five. Put down your phone, stop multitasking, and give yourself permission to simply be present. Take a walk, pray, stretch, breathe, or enjoy a few moments of quiet. Then ask yourself: *How did I feel before, and how do I feel now?* The goal isn't perfection. It's learning what genuinely helps you feel better. Ready for Support?
